"But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. … So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. … I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. … Noah did everything just as God commanded him. … Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease."""

What Noah's Story Teaches About Faith and Obedience
Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:8-9 says he found favor in the eyes of the Lord and walked faithfully with God in his generation.
He built the ark before he saw rain. God warned him about a flood that had not come yet. Noah trusted God's word and did everything just as God commanded him (Genesis 6:22). Hebrews 11:7, listed above, points to that same faith: he was warned about things not yet seen, and he built anyway.
God remembered Noah. Genesis 8:1 says that while Noah was in the ark, God remembered him and those with him, and the waters receded.
The rainbow is a promise of mercy. Genesis 9:8-13 says God set his rainbow in the clouds as the sign of the covenant. He promised never again to destroy all life by a flood. The bow still says that mercy holds.
