This love language quiz is free and stays on this page. It asks five short questions about how love tends to land for you. The five names are words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. They are not a list in the Bible. Each pattern is set next to a World English Bible verse and a short reflection, and those verses are on the page before you answer. The quotations are the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. Articles elsewhere on this site quote the NIV.
A grouped list of love verses is Bible verses about love. The direct answer, in plain sentences, is What does the Bible say about love. Love inside a marriage is Love and marriage. The chapter people call the love chapter is 1 Corinthians 13.

Words of Affirmation
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Proverbs 16:24 (World English Bible)
Pleasant words, in Proverbs 16:24, are compared to honey that brings health. Ephesians 4:29 tells the church to keep corrupt speech out and to say what builds others up. If this pattern leads your answers, love often arrives as a true sentence: thanks, encouragement, or a correction that still gives grace. The aim is not flattery.
Quality Time
He said to them, “You come apart into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
Mark 6:31 (World English Bible)
In Mark 6:31 Jesus calls the disciples away from the crowd to rest with him. Deuteronomy 6:7 puts teaching in the ordinary hours: sitting at home, walking the road, lying down, and rising up. If this pattern leads, love is presence that is not rushed. The gift is the hour, not a performance packed into it.
Receiving Gifts
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.
James 1:17 (World English Bible)
James 1:17 says every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights, who does not shift. John 3:16 is the great gift: God loved the world and gave his Son. A small gift can carry the same kind of attention when it was chosen for one person. The weight is not the price.
Acts of Service
If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.
John 13:14-15 (World English Bible)
Jesus washed the disciples’ feet and told them to do as he had done. Galatians 5:13 says freedom is for serving one another through love. If this pattern leads, love looks like a task finished: the meal, the errand, the work someone else dreaded. The act is the sentence.
Physical Touch
He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
Mark 10:16 (World English Bible)
Mark 10:16 says Jesus took the children in his arms, blessed them, and laid his hands on them. Romans 16:16 tells the churches to greet one another with a holy kiss. If this pattern leads, love is closeness that fits the relationship: a blessing, a hand, an embrace that is safe and wanted. Touch is never owed, and it is never a cover for harm.
Questions people ask
What is this love language quiz?
The love language quiz is a free set of five questions about how love tends to land for you. Each answer points to one of five patterns: words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. The verse and the short reflection for every pattern are already on this page.
Are the five love languages in the Bible?
The five love languages are not a list in the Bible. They are a common way of naming how people receive care. Scripture already tells God’s people to speak what builds up, to give time, to give good gifts, to serve, and to bless in ways that can include an embrace. This quiz uses those five names and sets each one next to a passage.
Which verse goes with each love language?
Words of affirmation are set next to Proverbs 16:24. Quality time is set next to Mark 6:31. Receiving gifts are set next to James 1:17. Acts of service are set next to John 13:14-15. Physical touch is set next to Mark 10:16. Each reflection names the passage in a sentence you can read without answering the quiz.
How should I use the result?
Read the verse for the pattern that led your answers, then read the others. The quiz is a mirror for how care lands. It is not a rank of holiness. Ask what the passage tells you to give, not only what you hope to receive. The signup on this page is for a daily Bible verse and the free 30 Days of Love Verses printable.
