"If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands, and last night he rebuked you."
— Genesis 31:42 (NIV)
People who search bible verses about the Fear of Isaac want Scripture on the patriarchal title pachad Yitschaq — the awe-Name Jacob uses for the God who watched his hardship — not only the shorter God of Isaac hub alone, the God of Abraham list alone, or the God of Jacob list alone. This page is a numbered list of twelve passages with the NIV text and a short note on each. Related lists: Bible verses about God of Isaac, Bible verses about God of Abraham, Bible verses about God of Jacob, Bible verses about living God, Bible verses about hope, Bible verses about faith, Bible verses about worship, Bible verses about salvation, Bible verses about Jesus, Bible verses about Christ, and Bible verse of the day. Word study (lead theme). In Hebrew, פַּחַד pachad (Strong's H6343; Bible Hub H6343) — dread, terror, object of fear; in Genesis 31:42 and 31:53 the title "Fear of Isaac." This list tracks that patriarchal awe-Name and nearby Isaac-covenant watchfulness — not the shorter God-of-Isaac inventory alone.
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on Genesis 31 presses Jacob's appeal to the God of his father and the Fear of Isaac as the One who saw his toil (Bible Hub MHC Genesis 31; Blue Letter Bible, Matthew Henry on Genesis 31). (The God-of-Isaac hub lives on that page; this list centers the pachad Yitschaq title.)

What does "the Fear of Isaac" mean?
"The Fear of Isaac" (pachad Yitschaq) is a name for God used only by Jacob. He speaks it in Genesis 31:42 and Genesis 31:53, when he faces Laban after years of service.
"Fear" here means the One Isaac revered, not terror of God as an enemy. Jacob calls on the God his father worshiped to stand as witness and protector against Laban.
The name belongs with the wider "fear of the Lord": reverent trust in the God who sees hardship and keeps covenant.
