Bible Verses About Fountain of Life: 12

"For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light."

— Psalm 36:9 (NIV)

People who search bible verses about the fountain of life want Scripture on maqor chayyim — the fountain of life in Psalm 36:9 and Proverbs — not only the broader living water inventory, the hope virtue list, or eternal life overview alone. This page is a numbered list of twelve passages with the NIV text and a short note on each. Related lists: Bible verses about living water, Bible verses about hope, Bible verses about eternal life, Bible verses about Jesus, Bible verses about wisdom, Bible verses about salvation, Bible verses about the light of life, and Bible verse of the day. Fountain of life here means the source-spring of life with God — distinct from living-water-as-Spirit lists or eternal-life-as-gift lists alone.

Word study (lead theme). In Hebrew, "fountain" is מָקוֹר maqor (Strong's H4726; Bible Hub H4726) — a spring, source, fountain. "Life" is חַי / חַיִּים chay / chayyim (Strong's H2416; Bible Hub H2416). Psalm 36:9 and Proverbs pair them as the fountain of life. This list tracks that source-of-life phrase, not the whole living-water or eternal-life inventory.

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on Psalm 36 treats God as the fountain of life and light (Bible Hub MHC Psalm 36; Blue Letter Bible, Matthew Henry on Psalm 36). Proverbs 13 treats the teaching of the wise as a fountain of life (Bible Hub MHC Proverbs 13; Blue Letter Bible, Matthew Henry on Proverbs 13). (Living-water and eternal-life lists live on those pages; this list centers Fountain of Life.)
