Bible Verses About Water of Life: 12

"Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb"

— Revelation 22:1 (NIV)

People who search bible verses about water of life want Scripture on the Revelation 22:1 river — hydōr zōēs / the water of life — not only Living water alone (John 4 and 7's hydōr zōn spring and rivers), and not Fountain of life alone (Psalm 36:9 and wisdom fountains). This page is a numbered list of twelve passages with the NIV text and a short note on each. Related lists: Bible verses about living water, Bible verses about the fountain of life, Bible verses about Jesus, Bible verses about hope, Bible verses about faith, Bible verses about salvation, Bible verses about God's love, Bible verses about worship, and Bible verse of the day. Water of life here means Revelation's throne-river and related water-of-life / river-from-God lines — distinct from the Living-water / Fountain-of-life lists alone.

Word study (lead theme). In Greek, "water" is ὕδωρ hydōr (Strong's G5204; Bible Hub G5204) — water. "Life" is ζωή zōē (Strong's G2222; Bible Hub G2222) — life. Together, hydōr zōēs is the water of life — the crystal river from God's throne in Revelation 22, and the free gift offered to the thirsty. This list tracks that water-of-life phrase and related river-from-the-sanctuary / thirsty-land watered lines, not John 4/7 living water alone and not every fountain-of-life proverb.

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on Revelation 22 presses that the river of the water of life flows from the throne of God and of the Lamb — pure supply for the holy city (Bible Hub MHC Revelation 22; Blue Letter Bible, Matthew Henry on Revelation 22). (Living water and Fountain of life live on those pages; this list centers hydōr zōēs.)
