"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,"
— 2 Corinthians 1:3 (NIV)
People who search bible verses about God of all comfort want Scripture on the 2 Corinthians 1:3 title — theos pasēs paraklēseōs — not only the broader Comfort inventory alone or the Comforter Advocate list alone. This page is a numbered list of twelve passages with the NIV text and a short note on each. Related lists: Bible verses about comfort, Bible verses about Comforter, Bible verses about mercy, Bible verses about peace, Bible verses about hope, Bible verses about God's love, Bible verses about faith, Bible verses about salvation, Bible verses about Jesus, and Bible verse of the day. God of all comfort here means 2 Cor 1:3's paraklēsis title — distinct from the Comfort / Comforter lists alone.
Word study (lead theme). In Greek, "comfort" in this title is παράκλησις paraklēsis (Strong's G3874; Bible Hub G3874) — encouragement, consolation, comfort called alongside. Paul names God theos pasēs paraklēseōs — the God of all comfort. This list tracks that title and related paraklēsis lines, not every comfort verse and not the Comforter/Advocate inventory alone.
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on 2 Corinthians 1 presses that God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation (Bible Hub MHC 2 Corinthians 1; Blue Letter Bible, Matthew Henry on 2 Corinthians 1). (Comfort and Comforter live on those pages; this list centers the God-of-all-comfort title.)

What does "the God of all comfort" mean?
Paul gives God this name in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. The verses say, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." The King James calls him "the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort." God meets people in trouble, and the comfort he gives is meant to be passed on to someone else who is hurting.
The same care shows up earlier in Scripture. Isaiah 66:13 says, "As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem." Isaiah 40:1 opens with God's own word: "Comfort, comfort my people, says your God." Psalm 23:4 says, "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." The valley stays dark. The comfort is that God walks it with his people.
Jesus promised help that stays. John 14:16 says, "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever." That advocate is the Holy Spirit, the Comforter and Helper who remains with his people.
