"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance."
— Psalm 32:7 (NIV)
People who search bible verses about hiding place want Scripture on God as sether — the cover and hiding place — not only the protection catalog or God's presence list alone. This page is a numbered list of twelve passages with the NIV text and a short note on each. Related lists: Bible verses about God's presence, Bible verses about protection, Bible verses about comfort, Bible verses about prayer, Bible verses about hope, Bible verses about faith, Bible verses about the Rock, Bible verses about Secret Place, and Bible verse of the day. Hiding place here means sether cover confession — distinct from protection-as-catalog alone or the Secret Place list (Psalm 91:1). Psalm 31:19 stores up good for those who fear the Lord and take refuge in him; the fear of the Lord Bible verses name that fear. When worry is what sends you looking for cover, Bible verses about anxiety names God as refuge for an anxious heart. That refuge around his people is also God as a wall of fire in Zechariah 2:5. Those who keep seeking God find refuge in him.
Word study (lead theme). In Hebrew, hiding place / secret cover is often סֵתֶר sether (Strong's H5643; Bible Hub H5643) — a covering, hiding place, or secrecy. Psalm 32:7 names the Lord "my hiding place"; Isaiah 32:2 speaks of a man as a hiding place from the wind. This list tracks hiding-place confession — not the whole protection inventory and not the Secret Place list (Psalm 91:1).
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on Psalm 32 presses that the pardoned soul finds God a hiding place from trouble, and that songs of deliverance surround those who trust him (Bible Hub MHC Psalms 32; Blue Letter Bible, Matthew Henry on Psalm 32). (Protection and presence lists live on those pages; this list centers hiding place.)

What does it mean that God is our hiding place?
Psalm 32:7 says, "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." The verse names God as the hiding place, and it still names trouble. The protection in this line is God's cover, with songs of deliverance around the one who trusts him. It does not say that trouble never comes.
Psalm 119:114 confesses the Lord as the psalmist's protection and puts hope in God's word. Read beside Psalm 32:7, it is the same kind of refuge: God himself is the place of safety, and the hope is what he has said.
Psalm 91:1-2 speaks of living under the Most High's shelter and of calling the Lord the refuge one trusts. Rest in those verses is remaining in his protection. This page keeps the hiding-place confession of Psalm 32:7. The Psalm 91:1 line is also on Bible verses about Secret Place.
Colossians 3:3 says, "For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God." That hiding is life with Christ. It is not a plan for leaving people or the work God gives. Together these verses speak of refuge in God: protection in trouble (Psalm 32:7), hope set on his word (Psalm 119:114), rest under his shelter (Psalm 91:1-2), and a life hidden with Christ (Colossians 3:3).

Questions people ask
What is a good Bible verse about a hiding place?
Psalm 32:7 (you are my hiding place), Isaiah 32:2 (shelter from the wind), and Colossians 3:3 (hidden with Christ in God) are clear starting places.
How do Bible verses about hiding place differ from protection or God's presence alone?
Protection pages survey keep/guard language. Presence pages survey God-with-us. This page centers sether — hiding place / cover confession — then cross-links protection and presence. See Bible verses about protection and Bible verses about God's presence.
What does sether mean?
Hebrew sether (H5643) means a covering, hiding place, or secrecy. Psalm 32:7 is the classic "you are my hiding place" line.
Is "hiding place" the same as "secret place"?
They share sether family language (Psalm 91:1 often reads "secret place" in older English). This page keeps the hiding-place confession (Psalm 32:7). The Psalm 91:1 secret-place title is Bible verses about Secret Place. See also Bible verses about God's presence.
Where can I read more about comfort, prayer, and the Rock?
Start with Bible verses about comfort, then Bible verses about prayer, Bible verses about the Rock, and Bible verses about hope.
Where in the Bible does it say "You are my hiding place"?
Psalm 32:7 says, "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." That is the line quoted at the top of this page. Psalm 119:114 is the other passage people open with it: the psalmist confesses the Lord as his protection and puts his hope in God's word.
Is hiding in God the same as running from problems?
Psalm 32:7 calls God a hiding place and still speaks of trouble and of songs of deliverance. Psalm 46:1 calls God "our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble," which is help in the trouble. Psalm 57:1 takes refuge until the disaster has passed, so the disaster is named. Colossians 3:3 says the believer's life is hidden with Christ in God; that is life in Christ, not a command to drop a duty. Isaiah 26:20 tells God's people to hide for a little while until his wrath has passed. That is a commanded wait in that verse, not a rule that every hard thing should be fled.
